Our Mission
WHO WE ARE
Streetlytes was founded in 2007 by the late Rudi Richardson to provide essential relief and care for the most vulnerable in the West London community of Shepherds Bush. This can include people who are homeless, in temporary housing and/or suffering from economic or emotional hardship. With the support of former Vicar Bob Mayo, St. Stephen’s church on Coverdale Road became our home. Streetlytes is a strictly non-profit organisation and is comprised of a team of dedicated volunteers who run our community kitchen every Monday.
WHAT WE DO
We run a community kitchen every Monday at St. Stephen’s church in Shepherds Bush. With freshly sourced ingredients donated to us that morning by food recycling charities such as City Harvest and the Felix Project, we prepare a 3-course meal comprising of a soup or starter, main meal (with meat and vegetarian options) and dessert which we then serve in a table service fashion to our guests. Our guests enjoy tea, coffee and juices while they enjoy an evening of companionship and conversation. Where possible, we give our guests donation bags of groceries and essential items. We also regularly run donation drives in which we collect high quality clothes, shoes & accessories from members of the community, which our guests massively appreciate.
