Welcome to Streetlytes
Our main activities involve outreach to the poor and homeless in the Kensington & Chelsea. We provide hot food, clothing and blankets on a biweekly basis.

Our emphasis to engage and build a sense of trust as we advocate on their behalf to service providers in the community that will address their immediate housing, mental health and drug and alcohol issues. Our experience in relating to the needs of the homeless comes from prior homeless and substance abuse histories and recovery from our core volunteers.
Additionally we are involved in assisting the London Homeless Churches Concern in preparing and serving the Monday night meals for the homeless night shelters.
Streetlytes provides free workshops within the community, prisons and churches delineated on drug awareness and sharing personal history of homelessness and drug and alcohol addiction. We are involved in forums throughout London to assist in galvanizing solutions in assisting the homeless and vulnerable.
- Our organisation operates a Street Outreach in the Boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. As well as delivering hot nutritious meals, clothing and blankets, our outreach team also empowers, encourages and inspires the homeless through mutual identification, mentoring, support, referral and advocacy. Streetlytes establishes a networking referral system with drug and alcohol agencies, NHS, detoxification centres, homeless shelters, supported housing, hostels, churches and voluntary organizations, both statutory and non-statutory through outreach, peer advocacy linking the homeless with the appropriate services to meet their immediate needs.
- Streetlytes is a first contact, front line contact to the homeless - meeting their immediate needs. Moreover, because of our partnerships with building based services in the community, we can directly liaise with the vital services they require such as housing, drug/alcohol programs, mental health and immigration issues.
- The benefit is three fold. First the homeless will benefit as described in the above-referenced). Secondly, the volunteers of Streetlytes will benefit as the core volunteers are recovered addicts, (who amongst other things receive regular mentoring and support) and because of their volunteer efforts and engaging with the homeless, serves to empower, sustain and improve quality of their recovery and lives. Thirdly, the community benefit as we will work along community based agencies in our galvanised efforts to tackle the homeless issues in London.
- Immediate needs will be met through food and clothing. Referral, mentoring and advocacy to appropriate services.
Organisations: Streetlytes is currently engaged with the following organisations: Soho Caring Agencies Forum, Housing Justice, Christian Association of Business Executives, CRINET, Westminster Drugs Project, the Upper Room, Foundation for Social Improvement, St. Helens Church, Dalgarno Community Centre, London Homeless Churches Concern, Chelsea Methodist Church, London Soup Run Forum and Campden Charities actively linking appropriate services to meet the needs of the homeless.
